The new owners’ desire for Living Room and Kitchen spaces that embraced the view and were open to the deck and terrace toward the ocean. Beachfront Residence This beach house on three levels had been expanded and remodeled several times, and the new owners purchased it because of the breathtaking views that this house offers. They desired to assemble and normalize the spaces for modern living, and recognized that the house could not be demolished and reconstructed as the new zoning code would not permit this scale of construction. Using careful placement of new structural elements, Alcorn & Benton Architects was able to remove interior walls, expand several spaces, and enlarge window and door openings toward the view. Upgraded materials, including all mahogany windows and doors, polished plank flooring, and a found space for a large wine cellar will support the beachside experience.
